Autumn term round-up
As we are now at the end of a very full term, we can finally take a moment to pause and look back at what has been achieved. There has been a huge amount going on for FOSP, for parents, for the school, and for our children. The past few months have been busy and at times overwhelming, but also incredibly rewarding. What stands out most is just what we can do when everyone comes together.
It’s important to us to recognise how busy this term has been for everyone involved. Our total target for the year is £20,000, but we’ve already raised nearly 75% of that in the past 12 weeks!
Fundraising this term
We raised over £14,000 across 11 different fundraising activities. That’s incredible. Nearly £8,000 alone was raised from the fireworks event.
Support from local organisations
We’ve also had so much support from organisations across Coggeshall.
Arline at Halstead Travel organised a raffle entirely on her own, with no volunteering support, and managed to raise a brilliant £378.
Gary at Harvey’s Minifigures joined us at our Lego Afternoon with a stall selling an awesome range of Lego. He also ran free giveaways, with lots of children going home with prizes.
Heritage Estate Agents provided their usual publicity for our fireworks display, and then increased their donation on top of this, contributing a fantastic £350.
Vital Workplace Training acted as our first aiders at fireworks night, saving us hundreds of pounds.
Shaken Udder’s milkshakes proved popular at fireworks, the disco, and the Christmas Fayre, with many of the bottles provided either free or at cost.
Coggeshall Catering kept everyone fed at fireworks night and the Christmas Fayre, and their new churros have been a great addition to their BBQs and hog roasts!
Kelvedon and District Rotary also supported us with a very generous £600 donation.
A real team effort
Running FOSP is a true team effort. We have a committee of 13 people who help run the various events. Everyone has a role, whether that is running the 150 Club, organising posters, or leading on a larger event. Without this group, nothing would happen.
Just as importantly, without those outside of the committee who volunteer their time, attend events, and buy tickets, we would not reach our targets. It is the combined effort of everyone involved that makes FOSP successful.
Looking ahead
Ultimately, all of this work helps us to support the school and provide extra funding and enrichment opportunities for the children. With future building works planned for the school, there may be additional needs ahead, while we continue to fund equipment, counselling, trips, and other support in the meantime. Your continued involvement and support will be more important than ever, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make this possible.
