Autumn Events

For those who are new to the school, the Autumn term can seem incredibly busy! We have a wide range of events to help raise funds for the school, and by the end of this term we should have raised over half of our annual target.

Below is a list of the events, with a bit more information about each. We also always pull out the big ones with a bit more detail on our main events page. Please note, some of these dates may change (such as the present stall), but we will give plenty of notice and update them here, on the events page and in the school calendar, where you can also find everything.

Welcome morning – Mulberry Class 29th September

There is a short coffee morning in school to introduce new parents to the school. The Chair of FOSP will give a quick talk about how you can get involved and it is a chance to speak to other parents of Mulberry children.

Personalised Christmas gifts – 10th October

We are helping the children to create artwork that can be turned into cards and tea towels. Perfect gifts to give to family and friends at Christmas! This has to be done early in the year as it takes a bit of time to produce the final items and distribute them to everyone.

Fireworks – 4th November

This is the big one for the year – we always sell-out of tickets with at least a week to go, and it attracts people from the whole community, not just those with children at the school. Doors open at 4.30pm and the display is at 6pm. Children can buy re-useable glow-sticks and we have a bar and food available.

Autumn Disco – 17th November

Once a term we hold a disco in the school, with infants from 5-6pm then juniors 6.15-7.15pm. It is so much fun for the teachers and staff who help – parents can also volunteer by helping at the tuck, tattoo and glitter stalls.

Father Christmas letters – 24th November

Children can write letters to Father Christmas and will receive a letter back as well as a little treat. This is a lovely activity, particularly for the younger children! Maybe make sure they don’t ask for iPads though…

Non-uniform day – 1st December

We run non-uniform days throughout the year and this one doesn’t require money being brought in, but chocolate! The chocolate items are then all labelled with raffle tickets ending in a 5 or 0 and then these are put on the FOSP tombola at Coggeshall Christmas. You can donate a big bar, selection box, chocolate coins – whatever you like.

Christmas tombola at Coggeshall Christmas – 2nd December

Coggeshall Christmas runs from 12-6pm this year and we have a tombola that often raises a few hundred pounds. This is such a popular stall and we always sell out of chocolate within the first two hours, so we sometimes have to buy extra to keep the stall going for a bit longer!

Christmas Fayre – 7th December

The Christmas Fayre is held in the school, with years 5 and 6 making their own games to run in the hall. They show such incredible imagination and innovation and all the younger children love playing the games in return for prizes such as sweets or chocolate. We also have a tuck stall, bar and food available. It is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit.

Santa’s Grotto – 7th December

The grotto is held on the same day as the Fayre and is held outside on the edge of the field in our very own festive bell tent. Tickets can be purchased to visit Father Christmas – these can be in high demand so we recommend acting quickly when they’re announced!

Christmas present stall – 4th – 8th December

FOSP runs a present stall before Christmas, selling children presents they can gift to friends and family. We have a fantastic committee member who puts together all the presents and then these are wrapped and sold with the help of other volunteers. You will need to buy tickets for your child to go to the stall, but we will provide more information on these and the exact dates closer to the time.

Christmas raffles – tickets sold at Fayre and Christmas performances, numbers pulled at Christmas performances

At our Christmas Fayre and Christmas performances we sell raffle tickets for you to hopefully win a hamper full of goodies. If you help sell the tickets at the performances, you also get to reserve your seats to get the best spot so get in touch if you would like to help out!
