Summer term update
As we bid farewell to another exciting summer term, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the fantastic events and the incredible support from our school community. While we had many successful moments, we also faced some challenges along the way.
Successful events:
- Non-Uniform Day: Our Non-Uniform Day was a standout success! Students enjoyed dressing up in their favourite outfits, and your generous contributions towards FOSP made a significant impact. We raised £466.80 from this day, which smashed the target we had set for it.
- Spare Change Challenge: The Spare Change Challenge also garnered enthusiastic participation, with many children helping to filling up their class bottles with so many spare coins for us to count. Literally, every penny goes towards supporting our school, and we thank you for your contributions. Well done to the winning class, Mulberry! In total we raised £243.77.
Challenges Faced:
- Inflatables Day: Sadly, we struggled to secure enough volunteers for Inflatables Day, which impacted the event’s full potential. We know that so many families want to simply attend the day, but it really won’t be able to happen in the future if we can’t make the most of it, which can only be done by having plenty of volunteers.
Fundraising Target:
Despite the enthusiasm and effort, we fell slightly short of reaching our fundraising target for the term. Your ongoing support and contributions are vital in helping us achieve our goals and provide enriching experiences for our students, and luckily other events across the year mean we have still hit our target for 2023/2024! We are still tallying up the totals but we have raised over £20,000 once again. Before the end of the term, we will be sharing how exactly we got there and how that money is being used within the school.
Looking Ahead:
As we look ahead to the next year, we remain committed to enhancing our school community and providing memorable experiences for our children. Your feedback and participation are invaluable to us, and we encourage you to get involved in any way you can.
Here are a couple of ways we are looking for your thoughts:
- School expansion – this is going to clearly have a huge impact from the school and another consultation will be taking place shortly. Please tell us what you think from a fundraising perspective, so we can communicate this back to the local authority.
- Tuck – we want to find out whether parents and children like the tuck we have on offer at our events, or whether they think we could be taking a different approach. You can find surveys to give some feedback on the school website, with a survey for parents as well as one for children.
We’ve wrapped up our final committee meeting for the term, but stay tuned for our next meeting in September and our AGM in October. We’re always on the lookout for new committee members—your involvement can be as much or as little as you like. Whether you’re curious to listen in, have questions, or want to share ideas, you’re welcome to join us.
Wishing you all a wonderful and relaxing summer break!
